Theatrical Mixes
2019 – Present

Line by Line Mixing
Below are some samples from musicals that I have mixed. I typically start any musical that I am going to mix by listening to the published cast album, if there is one. This gets me familiar with the music so that I can begin to learn the style. I then will go through the script and create a DCA breakdown while putting notes in the script for which microphone needs to be active. During this time I also edit the script so that it is easy to follow as I mix. Finally, I run through the show multiple times so that I can get the movements into my fingers so that I am ready to progress through tech, where I make more notes and adjustments at the direction of the sound designer.
Click through to see examples of the scripts that I create as well as the DCA breakdowns made in preparation of programming the board.
