One Man, Two Guvnors

Sound Designer

A fast moving comedy where Francis Henshall (Micheal Doherty) becomes simultaneously employed by two different men and has to ensure that neither finds out about the other. The design for this show was made to keep the play moving and emphasize the slapstick comedy of moments. The other aspect of the design involved reinforcing a live band that played the scene transitions so that they could hear each other (even though they were on opposite sides of the stage) and could all be heard by the audience.

Audio Samples

An exterior ambience at a pier. Used near the end of the show when Stanley is depressed about having lost Rachel.

This is a heavily layered sound of a lot of crashes for when the butler falls down the stairs while carrying all of the lunches. This was accompanied by a physical crash box at the foot of the stairs to aid with directionality and to add more layers and randomness.
